Vintage

Tonight we had a party for my fathers 50th birthday! I broke out my vintage Nina Ricci beaded belt that I stumbled upon at an antique shop in Sarasota a couple of years back.  It's not very often I break her out because she is very special too me, as she is one of my only couture vintage pieces! Also it is kind of beaded and flashy so I dumbed it down with a jean jacket to air on the more casual side of fashion. I like contrast and jean and sparkles are a great contrast (if you do it right)!

Cozumel/MEXICO

Spent one of the first days of 2014 on the Island of Cozumel, Mexico.  This place's water is phenomenal however, it was raining and cloudy so there was no way of me taking a dip in the water so I just had to enjoy the view on a cliff over looking the storm and waves! (bummer)  We also got to visit a hole in the wall tequila place that makes there tequila the old fashion way with no chemicals, just pure agave.  This land is so undeveloped that it's hard not to appreciate the views with their vibrant colors and all!  I have always enjoyed Mexico I would love to test out the other coast line of this country sometime, as I have only been able to enjoy the east coast!

NewYearsEve

Kept it very simple on New Years Eve and just ate dinner and hung out at a lounge/bar on the ship.  On New Years Eve I never like to over do it on the outfits, I think being modest and simple and classic is always appropriate! also when am I supposed to wear an outfit covered in sequins again?
I hope everyone has the happiest of years and that everyday is better than the last!

KeyWest

I was blessed to be able to cap off 2013 in one of my favorite places, Key West, Florida.  Only a mere 7 hour drive from where I reside but this time I was able to cruise there via the Royal Caribbean Cruise Ship.  The water on this island is absolutely perfect, almost all year round!  There was not a whole lot of time so we just strolled Duval Street and did some drinking and some shopping!

ParaParaParadise.

I do not think there will ever be a time that I am not grateful for where I live.  Sarasota is simply beautiful, without trying at all.  The Gulf of Mexico is the most serene body of water, in my opinion, and in the middle of December being able to dip your toes in the water is the most refreshing feeling!  If you ever get the chance to sit at home or go out an experience where you live, choose the latter!

DisctictOfColumbia:2

The last day my mom and I had some more time to spend doing what we wanted to do so we took the metro to the White House and walked around the area just taking in the scenery!  There is a little park behind the White House and in front of the Washington Monument which felt like a perfect place to do some headstands in front of!  Then we did some shopping at Pentagon City, one of the biggest malls of my life, I haven't had a chance to visit a Topshop X Nordstrom line yet so I tried on some of my favorites and I wish I bought this outfit, however I bought other things and this is my "OMG I wish I bought this outfit".   I really enjoy Washington D.C. I defiantly know if I go back I will do it a tad bit differently but when you stay with a family friend you don't always get to do what you want to do all the time!  C'est la vie.

Georgetown

On Sunday we went to Georgetown, which I was really excited for and it was so busy and worthwhile!  I got to do a little bit of shopping literally all the cupcake shops were so packed I didn't get a chance to get any.  The Chesapeake Bay was so gorgeous, I mean it's not Florida but it was breathtaking looking out at the Kennedy Center over that water!  The shopping in Georgetown is to die for, they even have a Dean and Deluca which always makes me happy!  It was so windy though that I was freezing, it's nice to visit these types of weather but I am so thankful to live in the warm sunny Florida!
